Worship & Music

Worship at St. Mark’s follows the liturgical calendar beginning with Advent, and progresses through Christmas and Epiphany followed by Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and then Pentecost.  Each season offers us the ability to follow the footsteps of Christ as we await his coming, celebrate his birth, learn about his earthly ministry, practice penitence, experience sorrow over his crucifixion and our own sin, rejoice in his resurrection, and witness the growth of our faith and his church.

Each Sunday we celebrate Eucharist as part of our worship, and together we sing hymns and anthems complementing the current liturgical season.  At the 9 AM service, worship is enhanced by the music of our contemporary, guitar-based Praise Band.  Our Adult Choir, led by choirmaster and organist Philip Montgomery, enriches our worship at the 10:45 AM service with music selections drawing principally from our Anglican and European roots, as well as 18th and 19th century American compositions.
