Bible Study GroupsAt St. Mark’s, we believe it is our job as Christians to know Christ and to live out his will for us in our lives. This can be difficult if we don’t know what Christ taught, how he lived or who he is. St. Mark’s Bible Study classes offer a way to come to know our Lord more fully, and to thereby serve him more effectively. Classes are held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday mornings from 10-11am. All are welcome to attend. The Tuesday morning Bible Study class is led by Father Phil LaBelle, who provides both an historical context and a modern day perspective to the Bible chapter being discussed. The class is informal and discussion-based. Beginning in September 2011, Dr. Jerry Kane will be leading Disciple Bible Study on Monday nights from 7 to 9:30pm. Disciple is a 34-week, small group Bible Study (8-12 people) that begins reading in Genesis and ends in Revelation. No previous experience in necessary and we assume that participants begin knowing nothing about the Bible. Participants will gain an excellent overview of the Bible and study sessions are also designed to generate discussion about how each week's reading informs our faith as modern Christians. Registration will begin in August.
